Colon Cancer Awareness
Colon cancer is preventable with early detection. A screening colonoscopy will identify the presence of colon polyps. Polyps are growths in the colon that can develop into cancer over time. Colonoscopy prevents colon cancer by removing these growths before they become cancerous. With screening and early intervention, colon cancer is treatable and beatable. Screening begins at age 45 years of age for healthy adults with no risk factors for colon cancer. Remember, 45 is the new 50! Have you been screened?
